As we enter into 2013, we reflect on the blessings and challenges of the past 12 months, and we approach this new year filled with energy and joy.
This past year, ARFC completed its most recent supportive housing initiative, providing opportunities for safe and sustainable homes to HIV-impacted families. We also continued to provide a comprehensive after school program to Newark children, and built upon our summer apprenticeship program for teens. We provided over 250 individuals with case management and substance abuse prevention services. Our staff facilitated more than 80 support groups for HIV-positive individuals. And through the 3 St. Clare's Homes, ARFC provided safe haven to neglected or abused children in need of specialized medical care.
Through the uncertainty of shifting funding sources, and through the devastating wake of Hurricane Sandy, ARFC navigated its way to the end of an active year -- ready to push forward into another year of mission-driven work. We could not have achieved success without the uplifting spirit of supporters, volunteers, and the gracious communities of New Jersey.
Thank you and may you enjoy a new year brimming with warmth, love, and family!
